Nagarjunakonda is a historical town, now an island located near Nagarjuna Sagar in Palnadu district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is one of India's historical Buddhist sites, and now lies almost entirely under the lake created by the Nagarjuna Sagar Dam. Nagarjunakonda is situated 210 metres west of Nāgārjuna Konda Fort.
