Agra’s Red Fort

Agra Fort, also known as the Red Fort of Agra or Qila-i-Akbari, is an historic fort in the city of Agra in Uttar Pradesh, India. A brick fortification on the site, noted as early as 1080 and later known as Badalgarh, was extensively rebuilt in red sandstone by the Mughal emperor Akbar from 1565 to 1573. Agra’s Red Fort is situated 2½ km northeast of Idgah.

Agra Cantt is the main railway station in the Indian city of Agra. It is located near the Sadar Bazaar towards the southwest of the city. It lies on the main Delhi–Chennai line and one of the Delhi–Mumbai lines. Agra Cantonment is situated 1¼ km southwest of Idgah.
