Bangarapet or Bangāra pete is a town in Kolar district in the state of Karnataka, India. Bangarapet is the headquarters of the taluk of Bangarapet. Bangarapet was originally called Bowringpet, named after an officer working in the Kolar Gold Fields. Bangarapet is situated 10 km south of Hudukula.
