Farah Airport is located in the city of Farah in western Afghanistan, which is the capital of Farah Province. The airport is under the Afghan Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation, and serves the population of southwestern Afghanistan. Farah Airport is situated 3 km southeast of Zīārat-e Şufi Māfī.
Farah Citadel
The Citadel of Farah, also known as the Citadel of Alexander, and locally known as Shar-e-Farahdun is an ancient fort in Afghanistan. When Alexander the Great invaded the area it was known as Prophthasia in Drangiana: the Drangian capital Phrada was just renamed in October 330; 'Prophthasia' means 'Anticipation', modern Farâh, Afghanistan. Farah Citadel is situated 2½ km northwest of Zīārat-e Şufi Māfī.
