Forward Operating Base Salerno is a former Forward Operating Base used by the United States Army from 2002 to 2013 during Operation Enduring Freedom. It is located in the southeastern province of Khost, Afghanistan, near the city of Khost. FOB Salerno is situated 3½ km south of Khūnī Ghar.

Yaqubi is the center of Sabari District in Khost Province, Afghanistan. It is located on at 1,113 m altitude in the southeastern part of the district. Yaqubi was the birthplace and home of Dilawar, an Afghan farmer and taxi driver who was tortured to death in 2002 by US Army soldiers at the Bagram Collection Point, a US military detention center in Afghanistan. Yakubi is situated 7 km northeast of Khūnī Ghar.
