Built between 1960 and 1963 as a summer retreat for Prime Minister Field Marshal Sarit Thanarat, it was later used by his successor Field Marshal Thanom Kittikachorn. Lam Thaen Guest House is situated 3½ km southwest of Ban Puek Yai.
