Wulai is a small town in New Taipei, Taiwan, famous for its hot springs and aboriginal culture. The name of the town derives from the Atayal phrase kirofu ulai meaning "hot and poisonous".

Bitan, historically called Shi-Bitan, is a tourist spot in Xindian District, New Taipei, Taiwan. "Bitan" literally means "green lake", referring to where the Xindian River widens to form the lake. Bitan is situated 8 km north of Guangxing.
