Dharma Drum Mountain is an international Buddhist spiritual, cultural, and educational foundation founded by late Chan master Sheng-yen. The center focuses on educating the public in Buddhism with the goal of improving the world and establishing a "Pure Land on Earth" through Buddhist education. Dharma Drum Mountain is situated 3 km south of Fenshui.

The Jinshan Nuclear Power Plant or Chin Shan Nuclear Power Plant, First Nuclear Power Plant, was a nuclear power plant in Shimen District, New Taipei, Taiwan. Commissioned in 1978, the plant was Taiwan's first and smallest nuclear power plant. Chin Shan Nuclear Power Plant is situated 4 km northwest of Fenshui.
