Bitan, historically called Shi-Bitan, is a tourist spot in Xindian District, New Taipei, Taiwan. "Bitan" literally means "green lake", referring to where the Xindian River widens to form the lake. Bitan is situated 8 km north of Zhongzhicun.

Xindian, also known by its historical spelling Hsintien and alternative spelling Sindian, is a district in New Taipei where the apartment complexes of the Taipei metropolitan area meet the northern end of the Central Mountain Range.
