Kaech'ŏn station is a railway station in municipal city, province, , on the Manp'o Line of the Korean State Railway; it is also the starting point of the Kaech'ŏn Line to Sinanju, of the Choyang Colliery Line to Choyang Colliery and the Chunhyŏk Line to Chunhyŏngri.

Prison
Kaechon concentration camp is a prison in with many political prisoners. The official name is Kyo-hwa-so No. 1. It is not to be confused with the Kaechon internment camp, which is located 20 km to the south-east.
