Founded on September 17, 1986, it is officially reserved for people who contributed to the "liberation of the country" and "socialist construction". Patriotic Martyrs‘ Cemetery is situated 3½ km southwest of Kuryong-dong.

It is located in Pothonggang District, Pyongyang in a two-storey white building, and controlled by the Korean Committee of Space Technology.
