Blackwood Forest Recreation Park

Blackwood Forest Recreation Park is a protected area located about 12 kilometres south of the Adelaide city centre in the suburb of Hawthorndene. The recreation park was proclaimed under the National Parks and Wildlife Act 1972 in 2001 to retain land purchased in 1908 by the Government of South Australia for use as open space for recreational purposes.

The Wittunga Botanic Garden is one of three botanic gardens in Adelaide, South Australia administered by the Botanic Gardens of South Australia, a State Government statutory authority; the other two are the Adelaide Botanic Garden, located in the inner city's parklands, and the Mount Lofty Botanic Garden. Wittunga Botanic Garden is situated 2½ km northwest of Coromandel Valley.
