Waimata River
The Waimata River is a river of the Gisborne Region of New Zealand's North Island. It flows predominantly southwards to the city of Gisborne. Here it meets the waters of the Taruheru River, and the combined waters flow into the northern end of Poverty Bay as the Tūranganui River.| Tap on a place to explore it |

The Gisborne railway station in Gisborne, New Zealand was the main railway station in Gisborne; and the northern terminus of the Palmerston North–Gisborne Line from 1942 when the line was opened, until 2012 when the line was mothballed beyond Napier.
