Tauanui is a 351 m high basaltic scoria cone in the Kaikohe-Bay of Islands volcanic field in New Zealand. It is the youngest volcano of the southern part of the field, having erupted around 60,000 years ago, and also the southernmost of the group. Tauanui is situated 2½ km southeast of Tautoro.

Kaikohe Aerodrome is an airfield south-east of Kaikohe in the Northland region of New Zealand. Built in 1942 as a US Marines bomber base, is the largest grass strip in the Southern hemisphere used now by general aviation. Kaikohe Aerodrome is situated 3½ km northwest of Tautoro.
