Ngunguru is a coastal settlement in Northland, New Zealand, 26 kilometres north-east of Whangārei. The Ngunguru River flows between the settlement and a long low sandspit into Ngunguru Bay, which stretches southwards. Ngunguru is situated 6 km northeast of Taheke River.

Pataua is a settlement in Northland Region, New Zealand. It lies at the mouth of the Pataua River on the Pacific Ocean. Pataua North and Pataua South are separated by a footbridge over the estuary. Pataua is situated 9 km southeast of Taheke River.
