The Takoradi Power Station is a thermal power station at Aboadze, 17 kilometres east of Sekondi-Takoradi, Ghana. It consists of three power plants. The Aboadze power station became operational in 1997 and is the first fossil fuel power station operated by the Volta River Authority. Takoradi Thermal Power Station is situated 3½ km southeast of Inchaban.

Shama is a coastal town in the Shama district in the Ghanaian Coastal Plain. It is known for its lush beaches and vegetation. It is about 25 km away from Takoradi and 160 km from Ivoiro, the border town between Ghana and Cote d'Ivoire.
