Tanji is a fishing village of 15,000 people on the western cost of the Gambia. In Tanji you can view the whole industry from making boats and nets, catching fish, salting, smoking and freezing fish.

Ghana Town is a small coastal fishing town in western Gambia. It is located in Kombo North/Saint Mary District in the Western Division. As of 2024, it had an estimated population of approximately 1,500. Ghana Town is situated 5 km east of Bijol Islands.
