It is also the seat of the judicial district that covers the localities of Moral de Calatrava, Santa Cruz de Mudela, Viso del Marqués, Torrenueva, Castellar de Santiago and Almuradiel. Valdepeñas is situated 3 km east of Arroyo de la Veguilla.
