Located in the southwestern Sulcis region of the island, the municipality consists of the villages of Giba proper, and Villarios, some 5 kilometres to the west, bordering on Masainas to the south, Piscinas to the east, Villaperuccio to the northeast, Tratalias to the north and San Giovanni Suergiu to the northwest.
