Montevecchio, located in the south west of Sardinia, is one of the most ancient mining sites in Italy. Administratively, the village of Montevecchio is a frazione of the municipality of Guspini, in the Province of South Sardinia, while the mines are situated in the municipalities of both Arbus and Guspini.

The Costa Verde, also known as Marina di Arbus, is located in the Province of Medio Campidano, in the south west of Sardinia, and it extends for about 50 km from Portixeddu and Capo Pecora, in the south, to Capo Frasca, in the north.
