The Alhucemas Islands are a group of three islets under Spanish sovereignty located in the Bay of Al Hoceima, in the Alboran Sea. They have historically been classified as "minor places of sovereignty" within the plazas de soberanía. Peñón de Alhucemas is situated 3½ km northeast of Aït el Cadi.
