Independence Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Bakau, Gambia. It is currently used mostly for football matches, although it is also used for athletics, concerts, political events, trade fairs and national celebrations. The stadium holds 20,000 people. Independence Stadium is situated 2½ km northeast of Kotu Power Station.

The Kachikally crocodile pool is located in the heart of Bakau, Gambia, about 10 miles from the capital Banjul. It is one of three sacred crocodile pools used as sites for fertility rituals. Kachikally Museum and Crocodile Pool is situated 3½ km northeast of Kotu Power Station.

The primary hotels are located on "The Strip" which is a short road leading to the beach and the hotels of Senegambia and the Kairaba. Kololi is situated 2½ km southwest of Kotu Power Station.
