Östhammar is a municipality in eastern Uppsala County in Sweden. While the Östhammar town itself has a population of 4,500, the municipality has more than 20,000 permanent residents, and several more during summer.

Hargshamn is a locality situated in Östhammar Municipality, Uppsala County, Sweden with 312 inhabitants in 2010. In 1878 a narrow-gauge railway was built between the port and Dannemora, to the west, which was a center of iron mining. Hargshamn is situated 9 km south of Frebbensholmen.
