Stockholm is Sweden's capital and largest city, with nearly a million inhabitants in the city, and 2.4 million within Stockholm County. The inner city is made up of 14 islands across Lake Mälaren and three streams into the brackish Baltic Sea, with the Stockholm archipelago with some 24,000 islands, islets and skerries.

Stockholm County in Sweden comprises the country's capital city, Stockholm, and its surrounding municipalities. With 2.3 million inhabitants, it is both the country's most populous region and the most densely populated one.

Dalarna, latinized form Dalecarlia, is a province and county in the region Svealand, in Sweden. It has a population of almost 280,000; nearly half of them in the southeastern twin cities Borlänge and Falun.

Uppsala County, Uppsala län, is in eastern Svealand in middle Sweden, and has around 360,000 inhabitants. The county makes up most of the Uppland province; the south-eastern part belongs to Stockholm County.

Värmland, archaic spelling Wermland, is a province in the Svealand region in Sweden. It borders the provinces of Västergötland, Dalsland, Dalarna, Västmanland and Närke. It also borders Norway in the west and Sweden's largest lake, Vänern.
