Cliffe Fort

Cliffe Fort is a disused artillery fort built in the 1860s to guard the entrance to the River Thames from seaborne attack. Constructed during a period of tension with France, it stands on the south bank of the river at the entrance to Cliffe Creek in the Cliffe marshes on the Hoo Peninsula in North Kent, England.

Mucking Flats and Marshes is a 311.6 biological Site of Special Scientific Interest east of Tilbury in Essex. It is part of the Thames Estuary and Marshes Ramsar site. and Special Protection Area The site is an extensive stretch of mudflats, saltmarsh and the sea wall, on the eastern side of the River Thames.

Thurrock Thameside Nature Park is an Essex Wildlife Trust nature reserve located on top of the former Mucking Marshes Landfill in Thurrock, England which will eventually cover 845 acres. Thurrock Thameside Nature Park is situated 1½ miles northwest of Lower Hope Point.

East Tilbury is a community in the borough of Thurrock in Essex, England. The community is in two main parts, being the older village near the banks of the River Thames, and a garden village to the north which was initially called Bataville, founded in the 1930s to serve the Bata shoe factory. East Tilbury is situated 2 miles west of Lower Hope Point.
