Carisbrooke Castle is a historic motte-and-bailey castle located in the village of Carisbrooke, Isle of Wight, England. Charles I was imprisoned at the castle in the months prior to his trial.

Newport is the county town of the Isle of Wight. It is in the centre of the island on the River Medina. It is the second largest town on the island, with a population of 24,000, slightly fewer than Ryde.
