Maesteg railway station is one of two railway stations that serves the town of Maesteg in Wales. The British Rail 1992 built station is located in the centre of the town, adjacent to the Asda Supermarket store and on former sidings 8+1⁄4 miles north of Bridgend.

Llangynwyd is a village 2 miles to the south of Maesteg, in the county borough of Bridgend, Wales. There are two parts to Llangynwyd, the larger more recent village is simply known as Llangynwyd while the smaller much older part which contains St Cynwyds church is locally known as "Top Llan".
