Yarmouth is an attractive little town at the western tip of the , just offshore of the South East of . Everything in Yarmouth seems to be on a small scale; small narrow streets nestle against a small castle and harbour, and the ferry terminal is actually built against the castle walls.

Based in Moa place, Freshwater, on the , the sports and community centre has swimming pools, sports hall, gym, cafe, meeting rooms, exercise classes, community kitchen, IT suite, hair salon, and hydrotherapy.

Dimbola was the home and workplace of the Victorian pioneer photographer Julia Margaret Cameron, where she lived from 1860 to 1875 on the Isle of Wight It is now a museum and galleries dedicated to her life and work which also showcases contemporary exhibitions of photographers from around the world.
