Island
Richel, or rather De Richel, is a permanently dry sandbank in the Wadden Sea, in the gap between the Dutch islands of Vlieland and Terschelling. It is located about 1 kilometer east of the northernmost point of Vlieland and is administered by the municipality of Vlieland. Richel is situated 3 km northeast of Fransche Gaatje.

Oost-Vlieland is the only village on the island of Vlieland in the province Friesland of the Netherlands. It had a population of around 1,020 in January 2017. It is situated on the east end of the island as its name indicates: Oost is "east" in Dutch. Oost-Vlieland is situated 4½ km northwest of Fransche Gaatje.
