Simmering is the 11th district of , . It borders the and was established as a district in 1892. Simmering has several churches, some museums, schools, old castles, and four cemeteries, one of them being the , one of the largest cemeteries of Europe.

is a large Mannerist castle complex in the Simmering district of , . It was built from 1569 onwards at the behest of the Habsburg Emperor Maximilian II.

Railway station
, Vienna Central Station or Vienna Main Station is the main railway station in , , located in the district. It became fully operational in December 2015, linking major railway lines from the north, east, south and west, and replacing the old terminus. is situated 3½ km northwest of Simmering.

Cemetery
is a in the district of , used from 1784 until 1874. It contains the unmarked grave of the composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
