The West Offaly Power Station was a large peat-fired 135 MW power station in Shannonbridge from 2005 to 2020, in Ireland. The station was capable of generating up to 153 MWe of power, thus ranking as the largest peat-fired power station in the country.

Clonfert Cathedral is a cathedral of the Church of Ireland in Clonfert, County Galway in Ireland. Previously the cathedral of the Diocese of Clonfert and then one of three cathedrals in the United Dioceses of Limerick and Killaloe, it is now one of five cathedrals in the Diocese of Tuam, Limerick and Killaloe. Clonfert Cathedral is situated 3½ km south of River Suck.

Banagher is a town at the western edge of County Offaly on the banks of the River Shannon. In Irish it's Beannchar na Sionna, "the place of the pointed rocks on the Shannon" - the river is shallow so it can be forded and is less flood-prone, but it's a block to navigation.

Clonfert Cathedral is one of the eight cathedral churches of the Church of Ireland, Diocese of Limerick and Killaloe. Clonfert is situated 3½ km south of River Suck.
