Cime du Gélas is a 3,143 m high mountain on the boundary between France and Italy. It is part of the Maritime Alps. It is the highest peak of the Mercantour National Park, while on the Italian side it is included in the Maritime Alps Natural Park.

The Vallée des Merveilles, also known in Italian as the Valle delle Meraviglie, is a part of the Mercantour National Park in southern France. It holds the largest quantity of open-air Bronze Age petroglyphs in Europe, after Val Camonica in Italy, and is given special note for the area's inclusion for the European Diploma of Protected Areas. Vallée des merveilles is situated 9 km southeast of Fenestre pass.

Saint-Martin-Vésubie is a commune of the Alpes-Maritimes department, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region in Southeastern France. Established on the edge of a glacial plate, it had a population of 1,327 in 2008. It was named after the Vésubie, a local river. Saint-Martin-Vésubie is situated 10 km southwest of Fenestre pass.
