Pontecagnano Faiano is a town and comune of the province of Salerno in the Campania region of south-west Italy. The area dates back to Roman times when the city of Picentia stood in its place and was destroyed by the Romans after the Second Punic War. Pontecagnano Faiano is situated 4½ km southwest of Santa Tecla-Castelpagano.
