Zapponeta is a town and comune in the province of Foggia in the Apulia region of southeast Italy. Until 1975 it was a frazione of Manfredonia. It was founded in 1768 by baron Michele Zezza. Zapponeta is situated 7 km northwest of Rovina di Salpi.

A few kilometres from the town are the ruins of Salapia, which was already a bishopric by 314, when its bishop Pardus took part in the Council of Arles. Trinitapoli is situated 9 km southeast of Rovina di Salpi.
