Portsalon is a coastal townland in County Donegal, Ireland. It is situated on the scenic Lough Swilly and it is known for its beach, which was deemed to be the second most beautiful beach in the world by The Observer newspaper.

Tamney, also known as Tawney or Tawny, is a small village and townland in Fanad in the north of County Donegal in Ireland. It was the only postal town of the peninsula of Fanad in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. Tamney is situated 5 km southwest of Dooanmore.

Lenan Head Fort, Lough Swilly, Inishowen, County Donegal was built in 1895, initially with three 9.2 inch Breech Loading guns. Following recommendations of the Owen Committee in 1905, it was refitted in 1911 with two newer Mark X 9.2 inch models. Lenan Head Fort is situated 6 km northeast of Dooanmore.
