Mweenish Island

Maínis or Mweenish is an island off the Connemara coast in the heart of the Conamara Gaeltacht. The island is close to Carna and linked to the mainland by a bridge. It is noted for its isolation and rugged beauty. Mweenish Island is situated 3½ km southeast of Bunnacliffa Lough.

Saint Macdara's Island is a small island off the coast of County Galway in Ireland on which stands a mediaeval Christian monastery and National Monument. Saint Macdara’s Island is situated 3½ km southwest of Bunnacliffa Lough.

Carna is an area in Connemara, County Galway, Ireland. It is located on the country's west coast in the Gaeltacht, about 74 km west of Galway city. Carna is an extremely small area, but as a focal point for the surrounding areas, it contains a Garda Síochána station, a Health Centre including a Rapid Response Ambulance a football pitch and an Irish Coastguard lifeboat.
