The ruins of Falkenstein Castle is in the Weinviertel region of Lower Austria, about 55 kilometres north of Vienna near the border to Czech Republic. The castle was used as a "Reichsfeste", for the protection of the HRE Reich with an overview over nearly all of Moravia.

In the future the Austrian A5 Nordautobahn from Vienna will connect to the Czech D52 motorway. Drasenhofen is situated 8 km northeast of Neubergleiten.
