Brava

Brava is an island in Cape Verde, and is part of the Sotavento group, in the central Atlantic Ocean. At 62.5 km2, it is the smallest inhabited island of the Cape Verde archipelago, but at the same time the greenest. Brava is situated 3½ km southeast of Porto da Fajã.

Esperadinha Airport was a public use airport located near the hamlet of Esperadinha, northwestern Brava, Cape Verde. It opened in 1992 and operated until 2004, when it was closed due to persistent dangerous high winds.

Monte Fontainhas

Monte Fontainhas is a volcanic mountain in the middle of Brava island in Cape Verde. At 976 m elevation, it is the highest point of the island. Rock types are made up of phonolite and ignimbrite. Monte Fontainhas is situated 4 km southeast of Porto da Fajã.

Cova Joana is a village in the central part of the island of Brava, Cape Verde. It is situated in a mountain valley, 0.5 km north of Nossa Senhora do Monte and 2 km southwest of the island capital Nova Sintra.
