Lóndrangar

The Lóndrangar are a pair of rock pinnacles in Iceland. They are volcanic plugs of basalt, that have been hewn out from softer surrounding rock by erosion. Lóndrangar is situated 3½ km southwest of Miðvellir.

Hellnar is an ancient fishing village, a cluster of old houses and buildings situated close to Arnarstapi on the westernmost part of the Snæfellsnes peninsula, Iceland. Hellnar is situated 3½ km east of Miðvellir.

Arnarstapi or Stapi is a small fishing and tourist village at the foot of Mt. Stapafell between Hellnar village and Breiðavík farms on the southern side of Snæfellsnes, Iceland. Stapi is situated 4½ km northeast of Miðvellir.

Snæfellsjökull National Park

Snæfellsjökull National Park is a national park located on the tip of the Snæfellsnes Peninsula in West Iceland. The park is home to the ice-covered volcanic crater that was the setting for Jules Verne's book Journey to the Center of the Earth.
