Acomé River
The Acomé River is a river in Guatemala. It is a short coastal river in the southwest of the country, with a length of 58.5 kilometres. It begins in the vicinity of the town of Santa Lucia Cotzumalguapa, in the Escuintla Department, and runs southward, crossing the coastal plain of Escuintla to empty into the Pacific Ocean by the village of El Paredón.- Type: Stream

El Paredón is a sleepy fishing village on the Pacific Coast of Guatemala. Surfers regard it as one of the best surfing beaches in Central America. Naturalists visit the lagoons and mangrove swamps along the river and in the adjacent Sipacate-Naranjo National Park to see nesting sea turtles and more than 100 species of waterfowl who nest in the protected wetlands.
