Mera is a town in the eastern foothills of the Ecuadorian Andes. It is also the name of the Canton in Pastaza Province of which it is a part. It lends its name to Shell Mera, a larger town 4 miles to the east. Mera is situated 2½ km east of Cumandá.

Shell is a city located on the western edge of the Ecuadorian Amazon and in the eastern foothills of the Andes. It is located about 94 miles southeast of Quito, and roughly 4 miles west of the provincial capital, Puyo. Shell is situated 9 km southeast of Cumandá.
