Cerrejón is a large open-pit coal mine in Northern Colombia owned by Glencore. At Cerrejón, low-ash, low-sulphur bituminous coal from the Cerrejón Formation is excavated. Cerrejón is situated 3½ km southwest of Arroyo Araña Gato.
