Aitutaki is an island in the Southern Cook Islands. Aitutaki lagoon and its islands are breathtakingly beautiful. The classic picture postcard of small palm tree fringed tropical island, with shallow, warm turquoise waters, corals, tropical fish and blue skies is taken here.

Aitutaki Airport is the airport for Aitutaki, one of the Cook Islands. The airport was originally constructed by the United States and New Zealand militaries during World War II.

Akitua is one of 22 islands in the Aitutaki atoll of the Cook Islands. It is on the northeastern perimeter of Aitutaki Lagoon and is 750m long and up to 310m wide. It is known for its beautiful turquoise, indigo blue, beach. Akitua is situated 3½ km southeast of Papamutu Landing.
