The Grave Creek Mound in the Ohio River Valley in West Virginia is one of the largest conical-type burial mounds in the United States, now standing 62 feet high and 240 feet in diameter. Grave Creek Mound is situated 2 miles east of Dilles Bottom.

The West Virginia Penitentiary, located in Moundsville, West Virginia is now a withdrawn and retired gothic-style prison that operated from 1866 to 1995. The Moundsville Bridge is a four-lane through arch bridge that connects Mead Township, Ohio and Moundsville, West Virginia across the Ohio River. The approach routes to the bridge carries Ohio State Route 872 on the Ohio side and the unsigned West Virginia Route 2 Spur on the West Virginia side. Moundsville Bridge is situated 1½ miles east of Dilles Bottom.
