Calera is a town in Bryan County, Oklahoma, United States, located five miles south of Durant and 10 miles north of the Oklahoma-Texas state line. Durant Regional Airport–Eaker Field is three miles south of Durant, Oklahoma. It was established in September 1943. The airport is home to Southeastern Oklahoma State University's Aviation Sciences Institute. Eaker Field is situated 2 miles east of Calera.

Durant is in the Chickasaw Country region of Oklahoma. Teddy and Eleanor Roosevelt once spoke here, even though it was a sundown town. It gained impetus through the railroad and eventually became a major commerce area for the Choctaw Tribe, with their casino and other investments.
