Clinton is a city of 9,000 people in the Great Plains Country of Oklahoma. It was platted in like 1902, but what really seemed to make it bloom was when it became a service-oriented community towards Route 66 travel, with cafes, motels, and filling stations to accommodate travelers.

Bessie is a town in Washita County, Oklahoma, United States. The population was 181 at the 2010 census, a 4.7 percent decline from 190 in 2000. Bessie is situated 4½ miles south of KCLI-FM (Clinton).
