Mead is a town in Bryan County, Oklahoma, United States. The population was 122 at the 2010 census, compared to 123 in 2000. Mead was originally named for C.W. Meade, the first postmaster, but the town later dropped the final "e" of the name. Mead is situated 2½ miles west of Kiersey.
Durant

Durant is in the Chickasaw Country region of Oklahoma. Teddy and Eleanor Roosevelt once spoke here, even though it was a sundown town. It gained impetus through the railroad and eventually became a major commerce area for the Choctaw Tribe, with their casino and other investments.
