It opened on June 14, 1996, and is a station on the Red, Orange, Green and Blue lines, serving Elm Place, One Main Place, Renaissance Tower, Thanks-Giving Square and Thanksgiving Tower. Akard station is situated 730 feet west of Placid Heliport.
