Island Roxy

The Island Theatre is a historic U.S. building located at 4074 Main Street, Chincoteague, Virginia. It still serves as an operational movie theater. Originally named Island Theatre, the theatre was renamed Island Roxy from the 1980s until the name was reverted to Island Theatre in 2013. Island Roxy is situated 2½ miles northeast of Doghead Flat.

The Chincoteague Island Library is a historic U.S. building located at 4077 Main Street, Chincoteague, Virginia. Built in the 1890s, this one-story building is the oldest commercial wood frame structure in Chincoteague. Chincoteague Island Library is situated 2½ miles northeast of Doghead Flat.

Wallops Island National Wildlife Refuge

The Wallops Island National Wildlife Refuge is a National Wildlife Refuge located on Wallops Island, Virginia; the refuge was created on July 10, 1975, with the transfer of 373 acres of land from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, and is administered by the United States Fish and Wildlife Service along with Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge. Wallops Island National Wildlife Refuge is situated 2½ miles southwest of Doghead Flat.
