Buckroe Beach is a neighborhood in the independent city of Hampton, Virginia. It lies just north of Fort Monroe on the Chesapeake Bay. One of the oldest recreational areas in the state, it was long located in the former Elizabeth City County near the downtown area of the lost town of Phoebus prior to their consolidation with Hampton in 1952. Buckroe Beach is situated 3½ miles northwest of Thimble Lighthouse.

Fort Monroe is a former military installation in Hampton, Virginia, at Old Point Comfort, the southern tip of the Virginia Peninsula, United States. It is currently managed by partnership between the Fort Monroe Authority for the Commonwealth of Virginia, the National Park Service, and the city of Hampton as the Fort Monroe National Monument. Fort Monroe is situated 4 miles west of Thimble Lighthouse.
